Great question! There is different paths you can take with civil engineering depending on what you are interested in and the reason why you decide to pursue a career in civil engineering. Most civil engineers are employed by architectural firms, builders, engineering firms and the government. The best advice I would recommend is to speak with your professors on different careers they would suggest that may interest you. Also, look into local engineering firms to shadow or see if they have internships available. This would be a great way to get your foot in the door and get some experience and see what you like and don’t like. This can give you a good idea on what you want to do when you graduate. Best of luck!

I think there are many different directions you can to go in with your degree. My recommendation is to talk to your college career center for advice. Figure out where your interests are, and go from there. Attend your campus career fairs and talk to company representatives, take advantage of internships. This is a great way to test the waters to see if a certain position or company is of interest to you. Good luck in your search!!
