Each company handles the interview process differently. If you're interested in knowing where you stand in this particular process, feel free to follow up with the recruiter. It's appropriate to follow up 24-48 hours after the date you were promised feedback. Be sure to communicate in a way that is professional and inquiring without a tone of desperation. For example, you might say "It's been (insert amount of time) since I've spoken with a representative from (insert company name). I remain interested in the (insert role title) at (insert company name) and I'd like to inquire as to my status as a candidate. Would you please respond to give me an update regarding my candidacy?" Be sure to include a sentence at the beginning showing your appreciation for being considered and also your gratitude at the end for the person completing the task you've asked of them.
