How can I start networking to gain assistance in my job search?

One of the easier and most effective ways to network is to join LinkedIn and connect with folks working within the field you're interested in or at the companies you're targeting. Reach out to employees and let them know you're simply looking for a little advice or guidance. Ask productive questions. You should also consider joining different networks and attending conferences and events in your desired field.

There are so many ways! Yes, LinkedIn is a great resource and one everyone should use! Make sure your LinkedIn is professional and updated.
If you are a student, go to your career center folks first! They build relationships with various companies in a number of industries. They can help with networking tips and tricks, how to send LinkedIn Messages, host mock interviews, etc. to prepare you for networking and beyond. Also, they typically have events lined up throughout the year to connect students with employers in smaller groups setting such as information sessions. I would suggest reaching out to a processor you built a relationship with as they also are well connected.
Best of luck building your network!

Joining Linked in groups and following companies that interest you is a good way to network. Another suggestion is to connect with your school counselors.  They often time have connections with companies and can introduce you to representatives they work with.

Good luck!
