I agree with Ashlyn that it is always best to stay away from mentioning this or name dropping. Some interviewers or hiring managers may take this the wrong way. If asked how you heard about the position, I think it is appropriate to say you heard through a friend that works at the company. During the interview process, I think it is important that you are evaluated on your skills and qualifications instead of who you may know. In my experience, most interviewers appreciate candidates more that don't mention this as it comes across that you are trying to name drop.
